DHANGADI, June 7: Chief Minister of Sudur Paschim Province, Trilochan Bhatta, is preparing to go for a floor test at the provincial assembly on Tuesday.
Although Chief Minister Bhatta proposed a vote on confidence motion on Monday, the Province Assembly Secretariat scheduled the vote for Tuesday as demanded by the Nepali Congress (NC).
BREAKING: Sudur Paschim CM Bhatta wins trust vote
Chief Minister Bhatta is required to win the trust vote to remain as the province’s chief minister after CPN-UML withdrew the support it extended earlier to him. The UML, former coalition partner, decided to withdraw its support to Bhatta, elected from the CPN (Maoist Center), on May 10.
The decision of UML’s Standing Committee (SC), however, was challenged by the UML province’s parliamentary party. The UML’s parliamentary party in the province called back some ministers and sent others to join the government even after the directive of the party's SC.
