LUMBINI (MARCHAWAR), Jan 27: Almost 40 percent of the work of the electricity substation being constructed in the Marchwar area of Rupandehi has been completed.
Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has shared that the power supply to the area will improve permanently after the construction of the Mahadei Substation at Marchwar, which is being constructed targeting three municipalities.
According to NEA Engineer Jagadish Raj Baral, 35 percent of the civil structure and 40 percent of the electrification work of the Mahdei substation have been completed.

The remaining works of the project are progressing at a rapid pace to meet the target of completing it within a year, he added.
He shared that an agreement was signed with the construction company last February. "We plan to complete the project within the next one year and bring the substation into operation," he said.
The construction work has been delayed due to the lack of soil testing, paperwork and various materials at the site, NEA Engineer Baral said, adding that most of the materials required for the construction of the substation have been managed. Planning manager at the construction company, Mukul Singh, said that the project could not be completed on time due to a delay in the design of the project.
After receiving the design, a team of 40 people has completed the installation of 850 electric poles so far, he said.
The NEA has stepped up routine monitoring of the substation construction works so as to ensure reforms in power supply.
