Sub-Registrar of SC to withdraw contempt of court case filed against NBA President

KATHMANDU, Oct 3: The Supreme Court (SC) Sub-Registrar, Govinda Ghimire has decided to withdraw a contempt of court case filed against Gopal krishna Ghimire, the president of Nepal Bar Association (NBA).

KATHMANDU, Oct 3: The Supreme Court (SC) Sub-Registrar, Govinda Ghimire has decided to withdraw a contempt of court case filed against Gopal krishna Ghimire, the president of Nepal Bar Association (NBA).


Sub-Registrar Ghimire wrote on social media that he would withdraw the case filed against the NBA President.

Ghimire has written on social media, “I have not been able to sleep since yesterday. I have always pursued democracy throughout my life or always fought for it. The NBA is the voice of the people and the essence of democracy. I would like to inform you that I have withdrawn the contempt report against its leadership.When the court is open, I will make a formal application with my statements. I do not want to be someone’s pawn.”


Furthermore, the bench will decide whether the contempt case against NBA President Ghimire is withdrawn because the petition was filed on behalf of the SC.
