But the season is finally changing. The world is waking up from its winter slumber, giving way to bright beautiful days. [break]
As the season of beauty embraces us with beautiful blooms, it’s time we shed those heavy dull clothing and got prepared for a lighter, more vibrant and a stylish season.
So, here we bring to you the hottest trends for spring 2012.

Micro/floral prints
Cotton dresses are a springtime must-have. Choose ones with micro floral prints and they are already a declared classic. Drew Barrymore recently appeared in a multi-colored floral print J. Crew “Jules” dress for the The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
The dress, because of its relaxed style, grabbed immense attention. Now not many of us could afford to get ourselves a J. Crew dress, but you could visit the Posh store at the Woodland Complex at Durbar Marg for similar options.
The store has just brought in its spring collection that’s bursting with vibrancy and colors.
To add a personal touch to these cute frocks, team them with chunky ear pieces or a statement necklace.
Be careful, however, not to overdo the styling part, and remember to use only a single piece of jewelry. Also, if the dress is multicolored, adding a belt will do.

White
The Paris Fashion Week said it all. The color of the season is white. Phoebe Philo’s first look for spring 2012 was an all-white ensemble, a belted trench coat with a flared skirt. Kate Moss’s appearance at the Louis Vuitton during Paris Fashion Week garnered her all applauses.
The Warehouse outlets at Civil Mall and People’s Plaza have just displayed their spring clothes which offer a large variety of whites to choose from.
Team up an oversized shirt with a belt and skinny jeans, or if you opt to be out of the regular, team up the jeans and shirt with Kolhapuri chappals and a colorful bag.
Plain white dresses available in stores in Thamel can uplift your style quotient instantly.
For a party girl look, the dress is to go with gold or silver pumps, and for a casual day, teamed it with a belt. A bright-colored blazer or a statement neckpiece are more options.

Stripes are going nowhere
Stripes are a perennial favorite and are sure to be a big hit this season too. For an immediate dose get yourself a striped jumper and team it with skinny jeans for a vibrant uplift.
Now remember to not limit yourself to the classic black and white, for stripes are hot in all colors. Grab pullovers and cardigans in gradated stripes in bright spring colors available at Baleno Clothing at Durbar Marg for a vivacious appearance.
Also, muted colored stripes in soft spring dresses are wonderful way for the upcoming season. Never forget that for an everyday look, the key to wearing stripes is to wear just one print with a solid.
Try a vertically striped blouse with white bottoms. If you opt for a stripe dress, avoid horizontal stripes for they will widen your shape.
Team up a striped dress with a gold belt to add the glam quotient, and even if you’re religious Breton stripes fan upgrade your style with a dash of color this season.

Lacy matters
These inject some effortless elegance into your look. The SAG (Screen Actors Guild Awards) saw not one or two but three pretty ladies sporting lace-top dresses.
Michelle Williams’s red Valentino gown, Penelope Ann Miller’s flared David Meister, and Stacy Keibler’s mermaid Marchesa all shared the lace factor.
The Glam Rush store at Times Square Mall, Durbar Marg, has pretty lace dresses in whites, reds and blues. Team a white dress with peep-toe shoe boots and a red dress belt for a subtly sexy look.
Whether you opt for a fully lace-embedded dress or keep it limited to sleeves or the top half nothing is a bad idea.
An easy way to glam up your look is to stylize the lace number with an up do and a slick of red lipstick.

Paneled dress
Everyone’s wearing one: Emma Stone’s gorgeous purple/fuchsia, custom-made Lanvin gown. The dress featured bright raspberry paneled inserts at the Golden Globes made heads turn. Keira Knightley recently wore a black, lace-paneled Nina Ricci dress.
Others donning paneled dresses include Madonna and Kate Winslet, among others.
Probably the best part is that these dresses are easy to carry by all body types and easy to stylize. Only add a little something like a belt or a statement purse to let your individual style shine is all it takes. For this season, it’s chic to wear these with your hair up, paired with peep toe pumps.
If yours is a more of a relaxed style, go with flowing waves and pointed heels. At the Posh store, you have these in full and short sleeve.
Choose the ones that suit you best.

Neutral is the way to go
When Prada showcased its ready-to-wear Spring Summer 2012 collection in Milan, it was official that pastel was the color of the season. These lovely shades make a statement without screaming for attention.
Angelina Jolie rocked the red carpet at the Golden Globes with a neural shade. Heidi Klum and Nicole Kidman too chose similar shades for the night.
Try a simple dress in a creamy taupe or latte color and team it up with gold accessories for a feminine look.
Alongside dresses, flowing pajamas, tunics and even shorts are a good way to taste the colors.
If you believe the neutral palliate to be a bit too silent for you, throw on a bright necklace or a vibrant scarf or try the easiest way to stylize a neutral by adding a hint of red.
A red bag or belt will do, and either way you’ll not go wrong. Neutrals are meant to be classy.
