According to the campus administration, the examination couldn´t be held at the campus as the students continued their week long protests. Nursing entrance examinations were held without any disturbances at other medical colleges of Nepal.
A total of 39 students had applied for the entrance examination at the Biratnagar campus.
The agitating students have accused BNC of fleecing students in the name of admission fees.
According to the agitating students, the college charges Rs 3,60,000 in admission fees for two-year BN course. The amount, they claimed, is double the fee charged by the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital at Maharjgunj in Kathmandu.
“A letter urging us not to disrupt the examination was sent on Friday by the office of dean at institute of medicine TU. But we knew that it was just an attempt to foil our protest through sweet-talk,” said Anjala Subedi, a student.
“We will let them conduct examinations only after they show willingness to address our demands,” added Subedi.
