KATHMANDU, Dec 2: Sri Lanka national team made an emphatic comeback in the third-place playoff match for bronze medal to overcome Bangladesh in an exciting 13th South Asian Games (SAG) volleyball match held at Dasharath Stadium Covered Hall in Kathmandu on Monday.
Sri Lanka had lost the first set 25-23 in a closely contested start setting the tone for the rest of the match.

The winning team made an emphatic comeback to win back-to-back three sets, 25-20, 25-16, 25-21, to secure bronze in SAG, its first medal in team event. However, Bangladesh's resistance wasn't the only challenge Sri Lanka faced to overcome the odds. Bangladesh was on 8 points against Sri Lanka's 10 when the match was stopped due to poor light conditions at the venue.
The match was resumed after the long delay of 30 minutes as Sri Lanka soon found its momentum in the match and went on to win the medal.
India and Pakistan will vye for the gold in the final match on Tuesday. The match has been rescheduled for 1 PM start. The men's final will be follwed by women's final at 4 PM.
