Sports sector could not develop due to lack of a systematic plan: Member Secretary Ghising

KATHMANDU, Jan 23: Member Secretary of National Sports Council (NSC) Tanka Lal Ghising said that the development of sports and players has not been achieved due to the lack of proper investment and systematic planning in the sports sector.

KATHMANDU, Jan 23: Member Secretary of National Sports Council (NSC) Tanka Lal Ghising said that the development of sports and players has not been achieved due to the lack of proper investment and systematic planning in the sports sector.


While addressing the two-day sports journalism training program organized in Kathmandu on Monday, Member Secretary Ghising said that one should not think about giving medals to the country without investing in sports and athletes. He said that starting from the third week of March, the NSC has started training for 23 games to participate in the Asian Games.

Ghising mentioned that NSC has carried out its activities as a strategy and general participation for the development of the sports sector. He said that the state is making investments up to Rs 10 million to each hardworking player. 


Ghising said that although NSC needs Rs 10 million equivalent to one player from January to September, the NSC has already taken a decision to this effect. He said that based on the hard work and dedication of the players, the state will be ready to invest up to Rs 10 million for the hard working players.
