Hemant Gurung, who was later adjudged man-of-the-match, scored in the seventh minute while Saroj Hamal added another in the 33rd for the winners.
In another match, Rambhakta ousted Adarsha School 5-3 in a tiebreaker after the regular time ended in a goalless draw. Rambhakta´s custodian Praveen Shrestha was declared man-of-the-match for good saves as well as scoring the decider in the tiebreaker.
Lamichhane, Khadka duo win
Samet Lamichhane and Yogendra Khadka´s pair of the hosts on Sunday defeated Deepak Kumar Pokharel and Madhav Subedi of Purweli Club 15-8, 15-9 in men´s doubles in the Panchakumari Badminton Tournament at Sinamangal. Kanchan Singh Thagunna and Rajendra Khadka´s team of Dolphin Sports Club beat Rakesh Singh and Kiran Rana´s pair from Maijubahal Club 15-11, 15-8.
Similarly, Siddhartha Sharma and Lochan Dahal´s pair of Battisputali Club ousted Lilendra Shah and Ganesh Subba´s pair 15-8, 15-8. In men´s singles, Roshan Singh of Maijubahal thrashed Shankar Wasti of Panchakumari Club 15-5, 15-7.
