Pandit completed a distance of 27.5 km in one hour 42 minutes 16 seconds to claim the first position. Narayan Gopal Maharjan was five minutes 51 seconds behind Pandit to finish second while Padam Sabenhan secured the third position. The top three cyclists bagged cash prizes of Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively. [break]
In the women´s category, Australian rider Freya Mills won the title while Indira Rana was the runner-up and Sandhya Kumari second runner-up. In the veterans´ category, Chandra Bahadur Chhetri, John Catterson and Kishor Shahi secured the top three spots.
Likewise, Ayaman Tamang, Lelis Maharjan and Sulav Shrestha finished first, second and third respectively in the junior category. In the masters category, Laxmi Bahadur Maharjan won the title while Ravi Man Singh won the title in the grandmaster category.
The organizer Kathmandu Bike Station donated Rs 51,000 collected from the race to the Early Child Development Center.

Valley Public, Nerik in QF
KATHMANDU, Aug 28: The hosts Valley Public ´A´ and Nerik advanced into the quarterfinals of the Fifth Valley Public Inter-school Basketball Tournament in the boys´ category on Saturday.
The hosts defeated Golden Peak 56-32 at the home court in Golfutar while Nerik edged out Prithvi 52-27.
Likewise, New Shrine, Daffodil, Buddha Academy, Excelsior, Greenland and Baba Boarding also won their respective matches to secure quarterfinal berths.
New Shrine ousted Innovative 50-29, Daffodil thrashed Rato Bangala 34-12 and Buddha defeated Babylon 44-20 in their pre-quarterfinal matches. Meanwhile, Greenland grabbed a thumping 42-11 victory over Pathshala Nepal. In other matches of the day, Baba defeated Sky Lark 24-12 and Excelsior beat Mount Glory 32-14.
