SPORTS BRIEFS: Nepali students lift World Cup Trophy

KOLKATA, Jan 16: Students of Radhika Higher Secondary School got an opportunity to lift the FIFA World Cup Trophy in Kolkata on Saturday.



Twenty students of the school were selected for the trip to Kolkata after they won the Nation-wide Coca Cola Inter School Football Tournament held last year. [break]



The 18 karat 6175 grams trophy arrived in India on Friday during its 138,902 km-tour around 83 countries of the world prior to the World Cup Football 2010. German football legend Lothar Matthaus displayed the trophy which will be in India till Sunday.



The Nepali team´s visit was sponsored by Bottlers Nepal Limited.





TaylorMade-adidas Golf products in Nepal



KATHMANDU, Jan 16: A leading brand of golf gears, TaylorMade-adidas Golf, has launched its products in Nepal for the first time. Nepali golfers will have access to the golf gears which are in display at the pro shop of the Gokarna Forest Golf Resort.



The company officials have organized demo of the products on January 15, 16 and 17.







Deepak Acharya, one of Nepal´s leading golf professionals, has been conducting the demo along with the company officials. Acharya is the brand ambassador of TaylorMade-adidas Golf for Nepal.
