SPORTS BRIEFS: Chaudhary leaves for 'study'

KATHMANDU, April 27: National Sports Council Member-secretary Hari Babu Chaudhary left for Sri Lanka on Tuesday to study and monitor sports activities there. Chaudhary is later scheduled to visit Maldives.



Maldives had finished at the bottom of the table in the 11th South Asian Games held at Dhaka, Bangladesh from January 29-February 9 while Sri Lanka had stood in fourth spot. [break]



Nepal have a better record than Maldives in any international competition they have participated. Sri Lanka too are believed to have similar performance as that of Nepal in sports discipline other than cricket.



Chaudhary will visit Maldives after Sri Lanka.





Mt Glory, Princeton register wins



KATHMANDU, April 27: Mount Glory School, Chakrapath and Princeton School won their respective matches on Tuesday during the Third Chief of the Army Staff Inter School Running Cricket Tournament being held at the BSAM Cricket Ground, Bhaktapur.



Mount Glory eased past Trijyoti School by a huge margin of 105 runs. Mt Glory put up 173 runs in limited 20 overs losing eight wickets and restricted Trijyoti to 68/10 in 11.2 overs.



Likewise, Princeton defeated Mount Glory International School by seven wickets. Mt Glory International were all out for 60 runs in 14.3 overs. In reply, Princeton met the target losing three wickets in 11.2 overs.
