Dhungana, Adhikari win TT titles

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Shyam Lal Dhungana and Roshani Adhikari won the men´s and women´s singles titles on Monday in the Sound Table Tennis Championship held at the Laboratory School, Kirtipur. Dhungana, who won three gold medals in the school-level Special Sports held a week earlier in the capital, edged past Krishna Prasad Dahal 11-4, 11-3 in the final. Sagar Lama and Kushal Neupane finished joint third. In the women´s title clash, Adhikari saw off Samiksha Bhattarai 11-1, 11-4. Sujita Pandey and Anju Gautam finished joint third. The tournament was held after a six-day training for 10 male and 10 female players from Kirtipur area.



Dawadi-Dhungana pair wins

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): The pair of Sushant Dawadi and Tikaram Dhungana on Monday secured first position in the Valley-wide Boccia Sports Championship organized for players with muscular dystrophy. The duo defeated the pair of Dirgharaj Shrestha and Bishal Budhathoki. Similarly, the teams of Samir Gurung, Chinoz Gurung and Ankit Shrestha; Surjan Shrestha, Subodh Khanal and Sudip Khanal, and Rohit Adhikari, Junaid Alam and Nischal Khatri also secured golds in different team events. The event was organized by Nepal Boccia Association under the aegis of Ministry of Youth and Sports.
