Spiritual Guru Pilot Baba passes away

KATHMANDU, Aug 21: Indian Saint Pilot Baba passed away on Tuesday at the age of 86 in a hospital at New Delhi, India.


Vedic scholar Arjun Prasad Bastola informed RSS that Pilot Baba had taken vedic education from Nepali Saint named Hari Giri at Trikhandi of Makawanpur district in 1974.


Prior to his guidance from the Nepali Guru, he had served the Indian Air Force as a pilot. Later he became famous as Pilot Baba.

He has established an Ashram at Ghyampe Danda at Suryabinayak municipality in Bhaktapur district where he used to come and stay from time to time. 


The Indian saint has many disciples who are involved in various professions. Pilot Baba provided accommodation and food facilities to Nepali pilgrims visiting the Kumbha Mela in India, shared Bastola.


Pilot Baba was born in Saharsa district in Bihar State of India as a member of royal family. Baba used to run many Ashrams named 'Juna Akhada' in several places in India including Haridwar and Gangotri.


He was given the title of 'Maha Mandaleshwor'.


Three-days of mourning on the passing away of Pilot Baba will be held in all Ashrams 'Juna Akhada' from Monday, it is said. 


He will be buried in holy land of Uttarakhand state in northwestern India, Indian media reported.
