Special committee to determine code of conducts for Maoist combatants: PM

KATHMANDU, Sept 9: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said that the Special Committee for supervision, rehabilitation and integration will "soon" determine the criteria for the integration of the Maoist combatants.



Speaking to journalists at the President´s official residence in Shital Niwas, PM Nepal said, "The combatants will be given open choice to join politics or their rehabilitation into the society."



Stating that the Special Committee has met twice to move ahead with the process of integration, the prime minister said, "The Special Committee will determine the code of conduct for the combatants."



Nepal added that "discussions are underway" among the major political parties for an agreement on the integration process.
