Addressing the 16th Annual General Assembly of Laligurans Multipurpose Cooperative Limited here Saturday, Speaker Gharti said the contribution of cooperatives was crucial for bringing prosperity in the country.
Also speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Federal Affairs and Local Development Kunti Kumari Shahi said the cooperatives sector has contributed to the promotion of country's rural economy and such contribution should be recognized by the state.
On the occasion, Nepali Congress central member and cooperative department chief Balkrishna Khand, CPN-UML cooperative department chief Pashupati Chaulagain and Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal lawmaker Dilnath Giri pledged to carry out amendments to the Cooperative Act 2048 and Regulations 2049 BS only after holding discussions with the cooperative campaigners.
On the occasion, it was informed that Cooperative sector has a total capital of Rs. 3.78 billion. RSS
