Speaker, lawmakers off to India

KATHMANDU, July 8: A nine-member delegation led by Speaker Subas Nembang left for India to participate in the fifth conference of Association of SAARC Speakers and Parliamentarians slated for July 9-12.



The delegation members include parliamentarians Posta Bahadur Bogati, Laxman Prasad Ghimire, Bhim Prasad Acharya, Neelam Barma and Kalpana Rana, parliament general secretary Manohar Prasad Bhattarai, and parliament officials Tek Prasad Dhungana and Ram Bahadur Dangol. [break]



Speaker Nembang will address the inaugural session of the conference. The delegation is also scheduled to participate in a couple of interaction programs titled ´Consolidating Democracy: Strengthening Trust between Parliament and the People´ and ´Sustainable Development in SAARC Countries: The Way Forward´.
