“I love being here in the lap of Pashupatinath and learning Sanskrit,” says 14-year-old Mahesh Khanal. Originally from Gulmi, Khanal is a Sanskrit student at the Bhagawas Sanyas Ashram. When asked how he feels about being away from his parents, he said, “I am not alone here. My friends keep me  company. Though I miss my parents sometimes, I remind myself that I’m here to learn and pay homage to the deities.”
