KATHMANDU, Oct 17: Writer Shova Gyawali's Sampurna Aakash (i.e. Entire Sky), a collection of 25 selected stories, has been released amidst a special function on Saturday.
Editor of Nagarik Daily Gunaraj Luitel, Editor of Republica Daily Subhas Ghimire, senior journalist and literateur Shree Ram Singh Basnet, author Shova Gyawali, Nepal Republic Media Private Limited’s Managing Director Binod Raj Gyawali and Chief Executive Sambridhi Gyawali jointly released the debut story collection of the author.
Horizon of middle-class women explored in ‘Sampurna Aakash’
During the book release function organized at Nagarik Network's Office in Kamaladi, Nepal Republic Media Limited also announced to host a program related to Nepali literature in Nagarik Network on a regular basis to recognize the contribution made by literateurs to enrich Nepali language and literature.
The stories included in the Sampurna Aakash try to depict the common experiences of women belonging to middle-class families in Nepali society. In his review, literateur Basnet said all these stories are based on social realism. Written in plain language avoiding any suspense elements, one can relate the events in the stories in their own life.
The Sampurna Aaakash consists of stories authored by Gyawali and published mostly in Nagarik Daily and Pariwar monthly magazine, a sister publication of Nepal Republic Media Limited. Gyawali, who is also Director of Nepal Republic Media Limited, has been writing short stories for the past several years.
The 232-page long book is published by Manjari Publication in Kathmandu. Priced at Rs 385, the fiction collection is available in all bookstores in Kathmandu Valley as well as those outside Kathmandu Valley starting Saturday.
