INARUWA, Aug 4: Although it was declared some days back that dengue was brought under control here, seven persons from the same family have been found suffering from dengue at Inaruwa-4 of Sunsari, according to Inaruwa municipality.


The family of Santosh Gupta from Ward No 4 of the municipality were found infected with dengue, said the hospital at Inaruwa. With this, the municipality has recorded the number of dengue patients at 11, which, the hospital, said was an increasing trend.

A senior auxiliary health worker at emergency section of the hospital, however, informed that recent sample tests found more than 20 persons detected with dengue. As the number of patients suffering fever was growing in recent days, even the case of dengue could increase.


In view of the dengue menace, an emergency meeting of the municipality has formed a dengue control and publicity committee under the coordination of Dilli Niraula, who is also the chief of education section at the municipality. According to him, the dengue patients were found at Ward No 3, 4, and 5 of Inaruwa municipality. The committee will initiate programs raising public awareness to curb the dengue, he added.


Even the preparation for a help desk with the management of a health worker for round the clock was underway. Municipality mayor Rajan Mehata also informed that they also began to spray insecticide in the area frequented with mosquitoes and around the homes.
