Seven Nepalis stranded in Dubai rescued

KATHMANDU, Oct 22: Seven youths, who were stranded in Dubai after going for foreign employment, have returned home after their rescue. The youths hail from Bahudarmai Municipality in Parsa district.

KATHMANDU, Oct 22: Seven youths, who were stranded in Dubai after going for foreign employment, have returned home after their rescue. The youths hail from Bahudarmai Municipality in Parsa district.


The youths were able to return home after Mayor of Bahudarmai Municipality Nitendra Shah took initiative to rescue them at the request of their family members. The youths repatriated include Hari Shankar Thakur, Pradip Kumar, Prakash Prasad, Babuchan Paswan, Bashishta Hazara, Mukesh Shah and Ram Ayodhya Kurmi.

The youths had gone to Dubai some time ago for foreign employment on a tourist visa through a local agent Surendra Yadav. After contacting Mayor Shah, who was on a visit to Dubai, the victims informed him about their problem and they returned to Nepal through Shah's efforts.


Mayor Shah said, "My trip to Dubai was for seven days but after finding that a few youths from the municipality were stranded there, I cut short my visit to three days. The youths have been rescued and they have returned home."


Mayor Shah, who was visiting Dubai for his Dashain vacation, found that the youths from his own village were stranded there. He said that he would take initiative to repatriate four other stranded youths from his village.
