Security condition beefed up in Lahan as  CK Raut set to arrive

LAHAN, Jan 18: Police have beefed up security condition in Lahan after knowing that CK Raut, coordinator of Free Madhes Alliance, is arriving here to address a mass meeting on the occasion of 10th Anniversary of Madhes Movement in the district headquarters of Siraha on Wednesday.

LAHAN, Jan 18: Police have beefed up security condition in Lahan after knowing that CK Raut, coordinator of Free Madhes Alliance, is arriving here to address a mass meeting on the occasion of 10th Anniversary of Madhes Movement in the district headquarters of Siraha on Wednesday.


The cadres affiliated to Free Madhes Movement are thronging to Lahan with placards reading Independent Madhes.


Raut is scheduled to lay wreaths at the memorials before addressing the mass meeting.

Police said they will only allow Raut to lay wreaths at the memorial and send him back home.


There is a huge gathering of leaders and cadres in Lahan now.


Similarly, United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) is also observing the 10th Anniversary of Madhes Movement in Lahan. The UDMF has built a stage 20 meters to the west of the memorial park.


According to polcie, the number of people attending Raut’s program is greater than that of UDMF’s.


Federal Socialist Forum Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav, Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party Chairman Mahendra Yadav and Tarai Madhes Democratic Party General Secretary Jangilal Yadav have already arrived at the UDMF’s program.


A huge number of security personnel have been deployed in view of both the mass gatherings.
