KATHMANDU, Dec 14: The second round of voting to elect the new Nepali Congress (NC) president will begin at 3:30 PM as none of the candidates got more than 50 percent of the votes cast in the first round of election held at the party’s 14th General Convention underway in the Capital.
The second round of voting will be held on Tuesday after none of the five candidates got more than 50 percent of the votes. The second phase of polling will be held from 3:30 PM to 7 PM, according to the Election Committee.

In the first round, presidential candidate Sher Bahadur Deuba got 2,258 votes and Shekhar Koirala got 1,729 votes. With this, there will be a contest between Deuba and Koirala now for the party presidency.
