KATHMANDU, July 6: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has asked Pradeep Adhikari, the director general of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), for a second explanation.
Tourism Minister Sudan Kirati has sought an explanation from Adhikari for a second time asking him 'why no response was made to the clarification sought for the first time'. Adhikari has been asked to furnish a clarification within three days for a second time after he did not respond to the clarification sought on June 26, with a seven-day deadline to respond. According to the Ministry of Tourism, a second clarification has been sought through a ministerial decision on Wednesday.
DG Gautam furnishes fresh clarification
The CAAN Director General was asked a nine-point question in the first clarification. But he took the stand that he was appointed by the Cabinet and did not give an explanation.
It is mentioned in the clarification letter that if no response is made to the explanation sought for a second time within three days, the matter will proceed according to the law.
