BAGLUNG, August 9: A school head teacher reportedly thrashed a student until he collapsed. The student has also gotten his upper teeth broken in the attack. Ganesh Gautam, principal of Ganesh Secondary School in Baglung municipality-14, beat up Kushal Poudel citing the student's poor educational performance, said the victim's father Prem Prasad Sharma Poudel. Kushal is tenth grader at the school.
"My son's friend said that Kushal went unconscious after being beaten repeatedly for long. We brought him home from school after one of his teachers informed us. His upper teeth have been broken. He is receiving care at home," said Prem Prasad.
School principal accused of embezzling Rs 1.1 million
"I enrolled son in the school in the hope that the school may provide quality education. Corporal punishment at school cannot be carried out under any pretext," he said, adding that he would seek legal remedy in the case. One of the school teachers confirmed that Kushal was beaten.
However, the school management committee and principal could not be reached for comments despite several efforts.
