SCBNL launches EMV chip debit card

KATHMANDU, March 11: Standard Chartered Bank Ltd Nepal (SCBNL) has said that it has launched EMV chip debit card which comes embedded with a microprocessor chip.

According to the bank, the new card will allow consumers to transact securely at ATM and POS terminals in Nepal and India. “Now, it is mandatory for the customers to provide personal identification number (PIN) for retail transaction,” the bank said, issuing a statement.


The bank has also launched the good life (TGL) mobile application through which customers can find the outlets where they can get special discounts by using SCBNL cards. The application can be downloaded from App Store and Google Play Store, statement added.
