Khadka, who is currently serving a one-and-a-half-year jail term, had demanded to be released and allowed to fight his case after paying bail amount equivalent to the jail term slapped by the court.
Earlier, terming the SC´s verdict against Khadka as ´unjust´, the NC had also decided to move the apex court with an application seeking review of the verdict.
The SC on August 14 had convicted Khadka of corruption and had slapped a one-and-a-half-year jail sentence on him with confiscation of the corruption amount Rs 9.47 million and a fine of the same amount.
A week after the apex court convicted him of corruption, Khadka had surrendered before the Kathmandu District Court. He was sent to jail on the same day.
The court had found that Khadka had acquired movable and immovable property valued at Rs 9.47 million from undisclosed sources during his stint as ministers with various portfolios from 1991 onward.
