KATHMANDU, Sept 30: The Supreme Court has refused to issue interim order on a petition filed by Bharat Raj Subedi, the director general of Department of Foreign Employment, against a government move to retire him on age ground.

Subedi, who has been accused of acquiring two copies of citizenship by changing his date of birth, has been claiming that he should get retirement two years later. But the Ministry of General Administration has claimed that Subedi's age in educational documents is different from his citizenship certificate. After Subedi challenged the govenrment decision at the Supreme Court, the division bench of Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha and Justice Jagadish Sharma Paudel refused to issue interim order on Wednesday. Subedi will receive retirement on Thursday.

The division bench said that available evidences do not support Subedi's claim so it is not necessary to issue interim order.

Joint Secretary Subedi in his petition had made the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of General Administration, and Minister for General Administration Lal Babu Pandit among other government agencies as defendants.
