KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Supreme Court (SC) has decided to re-recognize the Rukma Shamsher Rana-led Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) and has scraped all the writs filed by different petitioners including Jeevan Ram Shrestha.
A joint bench of Justices Deepak Raj Joshi and Dambar Bahadur Shahi, on Tuesday, decided to uphold the previous decision of the apex court regarding the recognition of the NOC and has scrapped all four writs regarding the issue.

The verdict came by the apex court ending the year-long animosity between two warring faction Rana-led committee and Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan-led committee, which is recognized by International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Following the decision, senior vice-president of the Rana-led committee, Kishor Bahadur Singh expressed his content and claimed that IOC will also recognize the committee. “There will be no parallel committee now”, Singh told Republica.
Following the verdict, the writ filed by Jeevan Ram Shrestha in 2017, Kishor Bahadur Singh in 2011 October and Umesh Bahadur Maskey in 2011 December have been scrapped.
