KATHMANDU, Oct 16: The International Sanatan Vedic Arya General Conference is taking place at Tundikhel in the capital city from October 20 – 22.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari will inaugurate the event to be organized by Nepal Arya Society, Organizing Committee Joint Coordinator, Janardan Ghimire, told the National News Agency (RSS).
Around 8,500 representatives from India, Australia, the US and Nepal will take part in the conference. During the conference yoga camps will be held on all three days from 5 am to 6 am. On the first day, a procession will be taken out at 6 am from the Sahid Gate.
The procession will travel through Tripureshwor to the 'tree' at Teku where martyr, Shukra Raj Shastri, was executed and from there towards the inner city thoroughfares at Jhonche, Ason, Indrachowk and Bhotahiti before converging at Tundikhel. The conference will be inaugurated with a Vedic 'Yagya' after the procession.
Eight separate conferences have also been planned during the General Conference, Committee Coordinator, Prof Madhav Prasad Upadhaya said.
The Vedic 'Yagya' will be held on Oct 21 and 22 from 7 am onwards. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal will mark the conclusion of the General Conference on Oct 22. RSS
