IMS plans to open three outlets, dubbed Smartphone Café, in the capital within a month and three outside the valley. [break]
“We are planning to open smartphone café as the number of smartphone users is increasing,” said Dipak Malhotra, chairman of the company.“We are opening two outlets in Kathmandu, one in Lalitpur and one each in Biratnagar, Pokhara and Butwal.”
According to Malhotra, the company will display seven models of smartphones - Galaxy Note, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Y Duos, Galaxy Y Pro Duos, Galaxy Y Color Plus and Galaxy Y in the initial phase. Samsung Galaxy Y is the cheapest at Rs 13,190 and the most expensive is Galaxy Note costing 61,300.

IMS sold more than 250,000 Samsung sets in 2011, about 10 percent of them were smartphones, and hopes the sale will cross 20 percent this year with the opening of the cafés.
The company has also launched an interactive event, Samsung Mobile Live, in different malls in the city, providing opportunity to smartphone lovers to touch and get a feel of the full range of Samsung Galaxy series.
The company conducted the program at Tamrakar Complex and Civil Mall and is currently carrying out the event at City Center. The event, which began on March 15 will continue till March 18. Similar programs will also be organized in Butwal, Pokhara, Narayanghat, Birtamod, Itahari and Biratnagar.
