Sainik has six points in its kitty in the five-team group after playing two matches. The win has also boosted Sainik´s chances of advancing into the super league.
The top two teams from Group A and Group B each will qualify for the super league. Group B matches are being held in Hetauda.
Earlier, Mitra Milan Club of Sunsari played a 1-1 draw with NFC Chitwan. Yuvaraj Rai put Mitra Milan ahead in the 65th minute but Nirmal Ale hit back the equalizer a minute later.
In the Group B matches held on Tuesday, Sangam Yuva Club of Kaski and Bijay Sports Club of Kailali emerged victorious. Sangam beat Jayakishan Sports Club of Banke 2-0 with goals from Pradip Malla and Rakesh Gurung.
Similarly, Bijay Sports Club defeated Saubhagya Yuva Club of Rupandehi 5-3. Rabindra Chaudhary netted twice for the winning side, while Maniram Chaudhary, Kuber Singh and Ishwar Chaudhary scored one apiece. Yamu Karki scored both the goals for Saubhagya.
