Court extends detention of Dipesh Pun after his failure to submit bail amount

KATHMANDU, April 19: The Rupandehi District Court on Friday extended the detention of Dipesh Pun, the son of former Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, after he failed to post the bail amount of Rs 400,000 in connection with the Supreme Cooperative fraud case.

KATHMANDU, April 19: The Rupandehi District Court on Friday extended the detention of Dipesh Pun, the son of former Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, after he failed to post the bail amount of Rs 400,000 in connection with the Supreme Cooperative fraud case.


According to the court’s Information Officer Anantaraj Marasini, Judge Dr Deepak Upreti's bench issued the order for Pun's release for a bail of Rs 400,000 on Friday. However, Pun failed to meet the bail requirement and his detention was extended again.

 “The court had ordered his release upon payment of a bail amount of Rs 400,000. However, as he could not arrange the bail today, he was detained again at Bhairahawa Jail.  We will proceed with his release once the bail amount is arranged,” said Marasini.
