Rugmark rehabilitates 876 children

KATHMANDU, Dec 27: Nepal Rugmark Foundation has rehabilitated 876 children working in carpet and wool industries.



The Foundation, which is working for the rights of children mainly those working in carpet factories, re-united 733 children with their families and admitted the remaining to rehabilitation centers.[break]



According to Foundation President Binod Karki, the organization has rescued about 2,000 children working in the carpet factories till the date.



"We have been encouraging children working in carpet factories to study," he said, informing that 469 children working in carpet factories are studying in different schools.



The Foundation provided health services to 529 child laborers and their families and employed 643 adolescent girls.
