KATHMANDU, Aug 27: A three-day residential training on right to information has kicked off at Dhulikhel in Kavrepalanchowk.
The objective of the training is to build governance system accountable to the people by strengthening capacity of the public agencies on information management and disclosure.

A total of 21 public information officers including from government offices in Sindhupalchowk, Okhaldhunga, Ramechhap, Kavrepalanchowk, Sindhuli and Makawanpur of Province 1 and 3 are participating in the training.
Freedom Forum -- an organization active in the areas of democracy, freedom of expression and opinion, press freedom and right to information – organized the training.
The training is focused on the contents of international best practices of right to information, concept, assumptions, theoretical aspects, constitutional and legal aspects, role of information officer, local government and use of right to information, said Bhawana Poddar, programme officer at the Forum.
She shared that the organization has already delivered such training at Dhangadhi in Province 7, Surkhet in Province 6, Dang in Province 5 and Bhaktapur in Province 3.
