RSP makes party membership fee voluntary

KATHMANDU, Jan 10: Membership of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) can be obtained by paying a voluntary fee.


The party secretariat meeting held at the parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar on Tuesday made such an arrangement regarding the party’s membership.


General Secretary Mukul Dhakal said that RSP had previously maintained a membership fee of Rs 1,000.

"Considering the feedback and suggestions gathered from the party’s committees at different levels, officials, and members, we made party membership fee voluntary through a provision where those who can afford to pay more than Rs 1000 for party membership can pay more and those who cannot afford to pay Rs 1000 can pay less,' said General Secretary Dhakal.


He also said that the annual levy to be paid to the party by the officials and members of bodies at various levels of the party has been revised.


Similarly, the terms of the study working group on public administration and energy policy working group had been extended by three months.


General Secretary Dhakal said that three members have also been added to the party's Central Election Commission.


“Bhuminand Baral is the Secretary of the Commission. Similarly, Atindra Dahal, Ram Gurung, Sumitra Pandit Chhetri  are the added members,” said Dhakal.
