RPP organizes tea reception to mark National Unity Day (In Photos)

The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) organized a tea party at Bhrikutimandap to celebrate the 303rd birth anniversary of King Prithvi Narayan Shah-- the unifier of modern Nepal-- and National Unity Day.

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) organized a tea party at Bhrikutimandap to celebrate the 303rd birth anniversary of King Prithvi Narayan Shah-- the unifier of modern Nepal-- and National Unity Day.


Top leaders from various political parties, senior government officials and prominent figures of society attended the event.


RPP invited Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, members of the Council of Ministers, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Chairman of the National Assembly, party leaders, former prime ministers, heads of constitutional bodies, representatives from foreign diplomatic missions, heads of security agencies, artists, athletes, and leaders of various organizations to the tea party.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, Foreign Minister Arzu Rana, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Nepal, Rastriya Swatantra Party's Acting President DP Aryal, General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal, Independent MP Amaresh Kumar Singh, Maiti Nepal's Founding President Anuradha Koirala, and Nepal Electricity Authority's Managing Director Kulman Ghising, among others, attended the tea party.


Earlier, the RPP held a National Unity Rally from the Mahendra Statue at Durbarmarg to the Prithvi Narayan Shah Statue in front of Singha Durbar. After the rally, participants garlanded Shah’s statue.


The party organized the event to commemorate the 303rd birth anniversary of Prithvi Narayan Shah and the National Unity Day. Born in 1779 BS, Shah ascended the throne at the age of 20 and spearheaded Nepal’s unification campaign, defeating both internal and external forces.
