RPP-N against cutting CA calender short

KATHMANDU, May 9: Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party- Nepal Kamal Thapa has warned that promulgation of new constitution by cutting the Constitution Assembly calendar short could bring constitutional complications.



Thapa said people should be given opportunities to deliver their opinions in nitty-gritty of new constitution. The constitution should not be promulgated through the short process.[break]



Speaking at the meeting of the parliamentary party on Wednesday, Thapa blamed the major three political parties, and the United Democratic Madhesi Front for trying to impose syndicate in the new constitution.



The parliamentary meeting discussed the forms of governance, electoral system, federalism, citizenship and other issues, said RPP-N leader Chandra Bahadur Gurung.



Gurung said, "The new constitution should not be promulgated unconstitutionally. All people should own it."
