KATHMANDU, June 16: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) General Secretary Dhawal Shamsher Rana appeared before the Kathmandu District Court on Monday.
Rana has been charged in four cases, including sedition, for participating in a violent pro-monarchy protest held in Tinkune on March 28. The government has sought charges against the state, criminal offense, organized crime, and offenses under integrated crimes against Rana.

Previously, police had released Rana on bail after completing an investigation. He had remained out of contact after being released, allegedly for medical reasons, even after the cases were filed.
A total of 65 individuals have been named as defendants for their involvement in the Tinkune protest.
