Considering the malodour emanated from the lifeless big cat, its death is estimated to have occurred some days ago, the forester added. The locals who had been in the forest to collect fodder informed the police after spotting the dead tiger.

Efforts are underway to take the dead tiger to the Forest Division Office at Pahalmanpur for keeping the record of the details, said Sher Bahadur Bhandari, chief of Sub-Division Forest Office, Lamki.
