KATHMANDU, Feb 13: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) has revised its Proportional Representation (PR) list following an instruction by the Election Commission (EC) for the same.
The RJPN has replaced Renu Sharma with Narmaya Dhakal in the list.
While submitting the candidates' closed list the party had ranked Narmaya Dhakal at the first, Nirjala Raut at the second and Renu Sharma at the third position. But the party, which won six seats under federal PR category, elected Nirjala and Renu who were on the second and third ranks respectively in the party's closed list and Narmaya was rejected.
"They have now revised the list and elected Narmaya under the PR system," said election official Gita Prasad Timsina.
Election code should be suspended for some time
On Monday, the EC had written to RJPN, Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Center) to revise their PR listS within Wednesday. The parties, according, to the EC, have violated the spirit of the closed PR list while electing leaders under the PR.
The Congress and the Maoist Center have not submitted their revised PR lists to the election body. "Hope, they will do it within the given deadline" said Timsina.
