20-year-old Ritu from Tulasiyahi Jabdi-4, Dhanusha, had been stabbed to death near Setopul on the way to her friend's wedding ceremony in Maitidevi on December 6, 2014. Bimalesh had confessed killing Ritu for turning down his love proposal.BBA 1st year student of Kantipur College, Ritu had been staying at FNF Girls Hostel.
According to police, Bimalesh had worked as a tractor driver at Ritu's house around 5 years ago.
Bimalesh had been following her since then, police said. Bimalesh had begun to work as a driver in Kathmandu when Ritu came to the capital to further her study after SLC, reads the statement issued by the Nepal Police.
According to the press statement, Bimalesh had threatened to take Ritu´s life unless she accepted his proposal.
"Bimalesh had taken a knife from the factory where he had been working as the driver and orchestrating for Ritu's murder two days before the incident," the statement said.
