A cabinet meeting held in Singh Durbar on Thursday evening took the decision to create vacancies for 2,250 personnel for the force. Led by a deputy inspector general (DIG)-level officer, RISF will be a part of the Armed Police Force (APF).[break]
Information and Communications Minister Rajkishor Yadav, who was briefing the media about cabinet decisions through video conferencing for the first time in the country, also informed that Brigadier General of Nepal Army Rajendra Bikram Shah has been promoted to the post of major general and deputed to Mid-Western Division Headquarters.
The government also decided to transfer eight major generals, ten brigadier generals and 14 colonels.
Similarly, the government has decided to provide Rs 8.1 million to Central Hajj Committee. Likewise, the cabinet meeting also decided to form a far-west development commission.
