Reuse old things as decorative items?

What we're talking about here is upcycling, or reusing old and discarded objects to create something better. Take, for instance, your old trunks. If you were a boarding school student, you must have old tin trunks lying around your house. Use that as your bedside table. Stack two or more if they are small in size, otherwise a big one should do nicely.

And in case you were wondering about what to do with your old and torn clothes, use them to jazz up your pots. Take a regular pot, cover it with glue and then wrap them in that cloth. Make sure the print is pretty and interesting.

If you have wine bottles lying in a corner in your kitchen, clean them up and find ways to reuse them. You can cut up pictures or texts from magazines and be creative when covering the bottle. You'll need a water-resistant clear gloss or you can use transparent nail polish to paint over the covering so that it's almost waterproof. And voila! You have a vase.

There are all kinds of inspirations on the Internet. So anytime you feel sad about throwing away old things, remember that you can still use them.
