KATHMANDU, Jan 1: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the responsibility of developing the country has fallen on the shoulders of the youth.
Speaking at a program organized by JCI Nepal on Friday, he said that the youths have an important role to play in the development of the country.
Youths’ Say On Youth Empowerment
"Young people affiliated with the JCI can say that they are not affiliated with any political party, but they cannot say that they are out of politics," he said. General Secretary Thapa made it clear to the JCI that it has the support of all parties.
General Secretary Thapa also said that it was important for the JCI to educate the youth about 'liberal democracy'.
Aruneshwar Khanal, the outgoing president of JCI Nepal, said that more than 10,000 youths have been affiliated to JCI Nepal in about 200 organizations across the country. Senator Lal Mani Bhandari, national president JCI Nepal 2022, took over the post. A new 21-member working committee has been elected for a one-year term.
