KATHMANDU, July 13: Students pursuing MBBS and higher degree under the Institute of Medicine (IOM) warned the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) administration not to overlook the deteriorating health condition of Dr Govinda KC, who is on a fast-unto-death since Sunday evening.

Issuing a joint press statement on Tuesday, National Resident Doctor Association and Nepal Medical Student Society have asked the hospital authority to shift Dr KC to a suitable room and arrange manpower and equipments to closely monitor the health condition of Dr KC.

"We will be compelled to take serious steps if the hospital authority makes the mistake of considering our patience as weakness," reads the statement.

The students have also condemned the irresponsible behavior of the hospital administration toward Dr KC. TUTH Director Dr Deepak Mahara did not return the calls seeking comment on the situation.
