RDIF draws curtain

KATHMANDU, May 30: Rights, Democracy and Inclusion Fund (RDIF) funded projects presented their success stories on Thursday in Kathamndu to all the participants for making the time to attend closure event. RDIF-- a consortium of DFID, SDC, Danida and Ausaid -- was set up in 2006 to make the civil society voice heard as many excluded groups were struggling for representation.



Over the last seven years, over 1.3 million people have directly benefitted from RDIF through training and orientation, awareness campaigns, workshops and community mobilization. Another area of support from RDIF was on tackling violence against women at the local level. In Achham, one VDC was declared Chaupadi free as a result of the work of RDIF partner. RDIF partners raised awareness and addressed issues of harmful social practices such as untouchable, child marriage and bonded laborer.
