Speaking at a face-to-face program in Ghorahi today, Raute chieftain Prakash Shahi expressed regrets over the Prime Minister who has visited the settlements of different ethnic communities neglecting the Rautes.[break]
Shahi invited the Prime Minister and the President to visit their place to experience ´first-hand´ their difficulties. He said they would offer their guests what they have been eating.
Other Raute people who spoke in the face-to-face programme with the Rautes, the first of its kind, complained that they have not received the allowances that the State has been providing them on time.
"If the Prime Minister comes to our place, he will understand our problems and difficulties," they said and expressed the hope that their allowances would be increased after the Prime Minister and government ministers visit their dwellings.
Chairpersn of the Raute Uplift Academy, Satya Devi Adhikari and central member of Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN), Yagya Bahadur Budha demanded that the government bring special programme for the protection and promotion of the Rautes.
