KATHMANDU, April 16: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) senior leader, Pashupati Shumsher Rana, today accused the government of shortfalls with the failure to expedite post-quake reconstruction, controlling the black market and conclusively ending the negotiations with the agitating parties.

At a greetings exchange programme held on the occasion of Nepali New Year 2073, Rana said, "The country is passing through a difficult situation; RPP's participation in the government is only as a dejected partner."

Rana pointed that it is a very miserable situation that reconstruction works have not moved forward a year after the earthquake and despite commitment from international community for a huge sum of donation.

He was concerned that the donors would withdraw the money they had pledged due to the slack handling of the issue by the government.

Rana reminded of the start of reconstruction work after collection of national capital within three months of the Great Earthquake, which struck in 1934 (1990 BS), and completion of the work in the next four years. RSS
