Earlier, the State Affairs Committee under the Legislature-Parliament had directed the PSC to halt vacancy announcement for one year in view of the country entering the federal setup.

The door for vacancy announcement has opened following the Committee's new direction to this effect, said PSC's Joint Spokesperson Devi Prasad Subedi. "We have started the process in this regard from today following the direction. We have also asked the Ministry of General Administration to provide details of vacant positions in public service, by the first week of the Nepali month of Asoj," he said, adding that the PSC was preparing to announce vacancy for joint secretary by mid-October, for under secretary by mid-November, for officer by mid-December, and for Nayabsubba by mid-January, 2018.
