Take antibiotics as per the prescription: It’s not good to leave the treatment in the middle. You need to complete the full dose of antibiotic prescribed to you by the doctor. If you stop taking the medicine in the middle, there are chances you will become sick again. Furthermore, the remaining bacteria may develop resistance to the antibiotic.


Do not save antibiotics for future use: You might keep the antibiotic prescribed to you currently for future use. However, an antibiotic particular to the infection you have at the present moment. Self-medicating yourself might cause your situation to worsen.

Consult the doctor: The best way to learn about your condition and get the appropriate medicine is by visiting the doctor. Otherwise, you might end up taking antibiotics in case of viral illness. That is not going to work at all.


Do not take antibiotics prescribed for someone else:  When you find similar symptoms and take the antibiotic prescribed for someone else, you will only be delaying your treatment.
